The Wauregan Clan of the Prato 4 scout group announces the launch of a fundraiser in support of scientific research promoted by the Umberto Veronesi Foundation.
The initiative stems from a story that touched us deeply: in 2023, Caterina’s grandmother, a member of the Clan, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Throughout the year, Caterina shared with us her grandmother’s journey, from surgery and chemotherapy to hair loss and the recent completion of radiotherapy.
It was a complex and intense experience, marked by fear and worry, but also by deep gratitude towards the doctors, medicine and research that supported her treatment. This feeling gave rise to the desire to do something concrete. Caterina therefore contacted the Umberto Veronesi Foundation, proposing a fundraiser through the sale of handmade crafts (earrings, bracelets, key rings, boxes, cases and more). All proceeds will be donated to the Foundation to support cancer research projects.
As a Clan, we welcomed this idea with enthusiasm and emotion, deciding to join forces to turn it into a shared initiative open to anyone who wants to make a creative contribution. We therefore invite anyone who wishes to participate – or who knows people who might be interested – to join us and help spread the word about the initiative: unity is strength.
